From political networking to understanding the field of lobbying, Greenlee Partners, LLC is proud to offer a paid, full-time internship to students and recent graduates who are passionate about Pennsylvania politics and government.
Our PA lobbying firm internship program is a semester-long paid internship in the spring, summer, and fall, based on a semester rotation. Students will be in the Harrisburg office full-time and discover what it takes to have a successful career in the public sector.
Greenlee Partners is a premier lobbying firm located in the heart of Harrisburg, PA. The firm has a wide variety of clients who represent several industries, including education, energy, health care, economic development, and technology.
Our lobbying internship in Harrisburg will provide students the opportunity to interact with legislators and the legislative process all while understanding the government’s impact on the private sector.
At our firm, interns are introduced to the field of lobbying by learning about the legislative and regulatory process and developing an understanding of the clients we serve and their relationship with government.
This is a full-time internship that requires a full-time student to be on premises in our Harrisburg office from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Greenlee’s internship is paid, and interns will be paid overtime for extra hours worked. Participants also receive a parking space.
Greenlee Partners interns work closely with the partners and principals on a range of legislative, administrative, research, and project-oriented tasks. They will perform basic legislative duties, assist with the publishing of Harrisburg: ONLINE, compile reports, complete projects for staff, and provide routine administrative support to the office.
Responsibilities can include but are not limited to:
Greenlee Partners interns are encouraged to attend events in the Capitol and network with public policy professionals across the industry. They will also have opportunities to interact with elected officials and staff.
Internships may be considered for college or graduate school credit based on the criteria outlined by the participating college or university. The intern can coordinate these with the help of the internship supervisor.
Greenlee internship applicants should be recent graduates or highly qualified undergraduate and graduate students. We’re interested in self-starters who wish to see firsthand how the private sector works with Pennsylvania government.
Ideal candidates must have at least two years of college-level courses studying government, political science, business, communications, public administration, or internal affairs. However, we are open to other majors. Potential interns must also demonstrate strong writing abilities and a basic understanding of the PA political process. Office experience is preferred but not required.
Interested candidates must submit a resume and cover letter.
Please observe the following schedule for the semester in which the candidate plans to apply:
The summer is the most competitive semester, so please be sure to submit applications on time.
We will begin to accept applications for the fall semester during the spring, but we will leave the application open through the summer. Please coordinate with schools ahead of time if you plan to secure school credit for your internship.
